WEDDINGS

Our View of Marriage

At LifeSpring, we celebrate weddings because marriage is God’s idea and one of life’s great gifts when lived out His way. While culture’s understanding of marriage may change, Scripture teaches that marriage is a sacred covenant—uniting one man and one woman in God’s selfless love for a lifetime (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:3–6). A strong marriage requires sacrificial commitment and abundant grace, both made possible through Jesus Christ (Ephesians 5:21–33).

Need a Pastor?

Our pastors are available to officiate weddings that align with the biblical understanding of marriage outlined above. Because Scripture—and practical wisdom—warns of challenges when couples are not equally matched, we seek to marry couples who share a similar spiritual commitment or desire (2 Corinthians 6:14–16). If you have questions about this, we’re happy to talk with you.

Church Involvement

Ideally, every couple we marry is connected to a healthy, Bible-believing church. Life and relationships can be difficult, and a faithful church community provides support, encouragement, and accountability through life’s inevitable challenges. For couples with children, a church community is especially important in helping create an environment where kids can grow and thrive.

Wedding vs. Marriage

A wedding is important—but a marriage is what truly matters. Because of this, any couple married by a LifeSpring pastor is required to complete a thorough premarital process before the wedding. Premarital counseling with a trained counselor helps couples build a strong foundation and develop essential tools for a healthy, lifelong marriage.
