Leadership Interview Questions
- When and how did you became a disciple of Jesus?
- We define a disciple as “a follower of Christ who is being changed by him and who leads others to do the same” (Matthew 4:19). How are you “being changed” by the Lord at this time of your life? What have you sensed him saying to you recently and what are you doing about it?
- How would you self-assess your growth in the following character qualities:
- Love for God – leaders desire and surrender to the will of God.
- Love for people – leaders care about other people as much as themselves.
- Teachability – leaders are continually learning, able to receive feedback, and submissive to authority.
- Forgiveness – leaders demonstrate a high degree of tolerance for others’ weaknesses and forgiveness of their mistakes.
- Hope – leaders trust God and believe He is at work in the midst of difficulties.
- Self-Control – leaders are able to manage their emotions, words and actions in a healthy manner.
- Passion – leaders are filled with a fervent drive toward the cause God has given them.
- Integrity – leaders are honest and demonstrate consistent character in all settings.
- What spiritual gifts have been identified in your life and how have you used them?
- What are you most passionate about in life and in your work?
- What natural aptitudes and abilities do you find most satisfying to use?
- How is your personality a good “fit” for this role?
- How have your life experiences (personal, ministry, education, etc.) prepared you for something like this?
- What do you consider to be your life mission and/or life goals? Where do you see yourself in 5/10 years?
- What experience do you have in this area of leadership?
- What unique strengths do you bring to the table?
- What weaknesses need developed?
- Describe your leadership/management style when working with a team.
