May 2026 – April 2027

Theme for the Year: Pour It Out

LifeSpring is a group of ordinary men and women who are serious about following Jesus. We want to follow Him, be changed by Him, and help others do the same.

At the center of that is one simple commitment: We hear His Word. We obey it.

Discipleship isn’t about gaining more information. It’s about becoming different people. And that only happens when the words of Jesus shape how we think, feel, and live.

As we enter Year Two of our Overflow discipleship journey, we’re asking a critical question:

How do we stay filled so we can keep pouring it out?

Romans 5:5 says God has poured His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit.

When that happens, we don’t hold back. We overflow with our time, our attention, and our obedience. We pour out the love of Christ in our homes, our workplaces, and our community.

So How Do We Stay Filled?

Most of us don’t need just another spiritual activity to squeeze into our schedules.

We need revelation. We need restoration and resilience. We need conviction and courage. We need motivation and wisdom. Time with God in His Word provides all this and more.

And when we pursue Jesus together with others, it builds unity and shared commitment across our church family.

So if you already have a steady rhythm in God’s Word, stay with it. But if you don’t — this is your invitation…not to check a box, but to grow deeper roots in Christ. To become strong and overflowing — together.

What We’re Reading Together This Year

This year, we will walk with Jesus through all four Gospel accounts — from His birth to the cross to His resurrection and commissioning us.

How to Use the Through the Word App

Through the Word (TTW) is a free, easy-to-use Bible reading app that provides short audio guides for every chapter of the Bible and tools that make it easy to follow a plan with others. If you don’t have access to a mobile app, visit [webpage link] for the Scripture schedule.

  1. Download the Through the Word App: https://throughtheword.org/ and create a free account.
  2. Select the assigned Gospel reading plan.
  3. Invite one or two friends to read with you. You don’t have to do this alone.

For the Gospel of Luke, each of the 24 “days” in the app will represent one full week in our pacing. We’ll slow things down to soak up more. Then for Advent, January, and Lent, we will plan to follow the seasonal plans in the app as outlined in the schedule.

Try This Weekly Rhythm

Apps make it easy to listen on the go — but transformation often happens when we slow down.

Set aside a consistent time. Find a quiet space. Write down what God is stirring in a journal.

Monday | Read or Listen
What stands out?

Tuesday | Reflect
Why might God be pressing that into you?

Wednesday | Pray
Turn it into a simple, honest prayer.

Thursday | Abide
Sit with it. Soak in it. Let it settle deep and resonate.

Friday | Overflow
Pray for someone who doesn’t yet know Christ. Ask for courage and opportunity.

A Note About Falling Behind

You are not behind if:

  • You miss a day
  • You only read a few verses
  • You don’t write anything profound

This is not about speed. It’s about formation.

We repeat Scripture not because we didn’t get it — but because it hasn’t finished shaping us.

“The goal of spiritual formation is not behavior modification but transformation of the heart.”

-Dallas Willard
