Our Elders

Elders for the July 2020-June 2021 term

The elders are the spiritual leaders of the church. They serve under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, the head, to lead the congregation to accomplish its mission. Elders are first proven as ministry leaders and then assume the additional responsibility of overseeing and shepherding the congregation.

The following names have been presented and affirmed by members of the congregation.

Darren Bowman

Darren Bowman and his wife Lisa are 25+ year residents of Harrison and have been attending LifeSpring from the time the church began meeting at Harrison High School in 2008. Darren served as a LifeSpring elder this past year and is currently the acting Treasurer of LifeSpring. Darren and Lisa also lead a LifeGroup in their home. He enjoys reading and studying the Bible. Darren is a Certified Public Accountant and is currently the Director of Harrison Tax Advisors, a local financial services business. He is excited about what God has in store for the future of our church.

Brian Crosley

Brian and his wife Lisa are 29-year residents of Harrison and have been active members of LifeSpring since 2008, when we began meeting at Harrison High School. They have 3 daughters; Hillary (Fiance’ Clifton Loucks), Kelsey (Caleb) Herrick and Whitney (Ben) Sams. All are part of the Lifespring Family. Brian serves in the Finance team with the counting teams. Additionally, Brian serves with Lisa in the nursery. He and Lisa are members of the Bowman LifeGroup. He enjoys traveling, coaching Harrison youth, and spending time with family. Brian is an Engineer and is currently the Director of Quality at HillRom. He is excited about what God has in store for the future of the church and the impact Lifesping is making on families in our community.

Ed Hampton

Ed and his wife Bethany have been members of LifeSpring since its launch in the Harrison High School cafeteria in 2008. They have two daughters, Kayla and Hattie. Ed became a Christian through Young Life, a non-denominational high school ministry, and has a passion for seeing people’s lives transformed by Jesus. He is active in discipleship in a variety of outlets including co-leading Starting Point, co-leading a LifeGroup, occasionally giving messages and discipling a couple guys. He loves being outside, traveling and playing with Hattie. Ed is a history major currently pretending to be a scientist at P&G, working on the Swiffer brand. One of Ed’s passion areas is to see the body of Christ changing lives everyday of the week where we live, work & play. No need to wait for a building, band and on-stage man on a Sunday.

Ken McLean

Ken and his wife Jan have been members of LifeSpring (from its pre-multisite days) for over 50 years. They have two daughters; Bethany(Josh) and Alyssa(fiancé Clay), and three grandchildren. Ken has served as an elder at LifeSpring for over 20 years and currently co-leads the Starting Point class and a weekly LifeGroup. He also serves on the Prayer, Pastoral Visitation, Ministry of Construction, and First Impressions teams. Ken is a Registered Nurse and works as a Senior Surgical Assistant for the TriHealth Heart Institute. Ken is passionate about God's work and is very excited about what God has in store for the future of the church at LifeSpring Community and around the world.

Don Smith

Don and his wife Anne have been active members of LifeSpring since 2008. They have two children; Donny (Kelly) Smith and Jenny (Dan) Hauer along with seven grandchildren, who all are part of the church family. Don served as an elder at the Harrison Church of Christ and for the last twelve years at LifeSpring. He and his wife Anne lead a LifeGroup that meets in their home. When not working or serving, they enjoy family time and RV’ing. Don is an engineer and construction company owner of Smith & Brown Contractors, Inc. Don and his family love being part of a church that is actively “Joining God in Restoring a Broken World” and looks forward to what God has in store for all of us in the years to come.

Jerry Varney

Jerry and his wife Sandy have been active members of LifeSpring for almost 5 years. They have four children; Brittany, Jeff, Nick (Leah) and Matt (Sara) and 6 grandchildren. All are part of the church family except Nick and Leah who live in Nashville. Jerry serves on the Food Pantry and First Impressions teams. Additionally, he and his wife are leading a LifeGroup in their home. They love to travel and spend time with their grandchildren. Jerry is Vice President and Director of Contract Administration for Cincinnati Financial Corporation. He is excited to be a part of a church community and ministry that God is using to impact and change lives.
