Krisa was born and raised in the greater Cincinnati area and currently resides in Harrison with her husband, Doug, and their three children (Erin, Isaiah, and Elliot). They love to spend time together as a family going camping, swimming, hiking, or traveling.
Though born into a broken home lacking strong Christian leadership, Krisa is grateful for her maternal grandparents who were well rooted in their faith. From a young age, they took her to church where she grew to love and serve the Lord.
In 2003, after completing a degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Southern Indiana, Krisa moved back to Cincinnati and married Doug. They bought their first home in Cheviot, and Krisa took a job at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital as the Assistant to the Business Director in the Division of Human Genetics. She worked there for the next 8 ½ years during which she was promoted to Senior Financial Analyst.
While living in Cheviot, Doug and Krisa attended the Bridgetown Church of Christ and served in several ministries. In 2008, they sold their home and moved back to Doug’s hometown of Harrison. After a few years of driving back to Bridgetown for church services and activities, they decided to start looking for a new church home in Harrison.
True to form, they made a spreadsheet of all the local churches, perceived pros and cons, distance from home, etc. and decided to start visiting a new church every Sunday until it “felt right.” The first Sunday of their research was the first Sunday worship service for LifeSpring in the old “roller rink” building. Krisa hesitantly walked in, but by the time she left, she knew they had found their new church home.
After giving birth to their youngest child in 2012, Krisa became a stay-at-home mom. Then in 2014, she took a position as a Cost Analyst for The Kroger Company. Her analytical skills were honed there, but working 50+ hours per week was taking a toll on her family. In 2017, she and Doug decided that she needed to be at home with the kids once again. The part-time Financial Secretary role at LifeSpring now provides the right work/life balance she has been striving for.
Krisa is passionate about loving on our community in a way that all people, especially impressionable children, associate him with love, devoutness, and genuineness not restriction, weakness, or fakeness.
